dc.descriptionThe new technologies present in social communication are considered a new paradigm that influences the journalistic environment. However, its incidence has affected its identity and scope by varying the professional sense of the term (Donsbach, Rentsch and Mende, 2012). This investigation seeks to establish the journalistic use of YouTube and its implications in the professional practice of the social communicator. Methodologically, it is a study with a qualitative approach, field design and exploratory and descriptive level. The theoretical assumptions were the complexity of the communication sciences (McLuhan, 1996; Toffler, 1981 and Postman, 1998) and the theory of Technological Determinism (McLuhan, 1996). The interview with five journalism professionals allowed us to observe that despite the necessary adaptations to a digitalized era; today social communicators are required, loyal to their ethical responsibility and their commitment to the truthfulness and reliability of the information.en-US
dc.descriptionLas nuevas tecnologías presentes en la comunicación social se consideran un nuevo paradigma que influye en el entorno periodístico. Sin embargo, su incidencia ha afectado su identidad y alcance al variar el sentido profesional del término (Donsbach, Rentsch y Mende, 2012). Esta investigación persigue establecer el uso periodístico de YouTube y sus implicaciones en el ejercicio profesional del comunicador social. Metodológicamente, es un estudio con enfoque cualitativo, de diseño de campo y de nivel exploratorio y descriptivo. Los presupuestos teóricos fueron la complejidad de las ciencias de la comunicación (McLuhan, 1996; Toffler, 1981 y Postman, 1998) y la teoría del Determinismo Tecnológico (McLuhan, 1996). La entrevista a cinco profesionales del periodismo permitió observar que a pesar de las adaptaciones necesarias a una época digitalizada, hoy son requeridos comunicadores sociales leales a su responsabilidad ética y su compromiso con la veracidad y la confiabilidad de la información.es-ES
