dc.descriptionThe bets of this article are part of a historical story about the origin, its consolidation and political-territorial transformations, which has suffered the territorial extension known as Guayana Esequiba or Esequibo Territory, which is located in the north of South America in a space of 159,500 km2 (approx.) embedded between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, its historical property, and the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, which occupies it de facto. Emphasis is placed on showing the intention and performance of the British Empire and the United States of America, throughout the process leading up to the well-known and conflicting Arbitral Award of Paris of 1899, especially the events preceding it. It can be affirmed that in this process there was bad faith on the part of both powers against Venezuela.en-US
dc.descriptionLas apuestas del presente artículo forman parte de un relato histórico sobre el origen, su consolidación y transformaciones político – territoriales, que ha sufrido la extensión territorial conocida como Guayana Esequiba o Territorio Esequibo, la cual se ubica al norte de Suramérica en un espacio de 159.500 km2 (apróx.) encajado entre la República Bolivariana de Venezuela, propiedad histórica de esta, y la República Cooperativa de Guyana, que la ocupa de facto.  Se hace énfasis en mostrar la intencionalidad y actuación del imperio británico y de los EEUU de Norteamérica, durante todo el proceso que conduce hasta llegar al conocido y conflictivo Laudo Arbitral de París de 1899, en especial los hechos precedentes a este. Se puede afirmar que en este proceso hubo mala fe de parte de ambas potencias contra Venezuela.es-ES
