| dc.description | Este artigo investiga o jornal A Cruzada, importante periódico sergipano que existiu de 1918- 1970, e a Igreja Católica no período republicano, como uma forma de compreender a relação entre este periódico e o ideal cristão. Nesse sentido, busca fornecer um panorama geral da forma como se encontra a Igreja no século XX no Brasil e informações acerca deste semanário católico. É importante salientar que o presente trabalho é um recorte da pesquisa de mestrado em desenvolvimento intitulada como Igreja, Poder e Imprensa: O ideário anticomunista no semanário sergipano A Cruzada (1937-1970). Assim, a análise da Igreja Católica nacional e local no período republicano mostrou esta instituição muito próxima das questões políticas e sociais de seu tempo, e justamente por isso é importante compreender o cenário mais amplo que estão envolvidos os responsáveis pelo referido periódico católico. | |
| dc.description | This article investigates A Cruzada newspaper, an important Sergipe newspaper that existed from 1918-1970, and the Catholic Church in the Republican period, as a way of understanding the relationship between this periodical and the Christian ideal. In this sense, it seeks to provide an overview of how the Church in the twentieth century in Brazil and information about this Catholic weekly. It is important to point out that the present work is a cut of the master's research in development entitled Church, Power and Press: The anticommunist ideology in the Sergipe weekly A Cruzada (1937-1970). Thus, the analysis of the national and local Catholic Church in the republican period showed this institution very close to the political and social issues of its time, and precisely for this reason it is important to understand the broader scenario that are involved those responsible for the aforementioned Catholic periodical. | |
