| dc.description | This article deals with the concept of abduction within Umberto Eco's theoretical work. The main goal of this text is to show how Umberto Eco disdains the aesthetic component in favor of a more cognitive approach of artistic fruition. Besides, the article intends to show the relationship between abduction and the Kantian concept of teleological judgment. It also offers, as a conclusion, an analysis of some of the consequences of this relationship which Umberto Eco was not totally aware of. | |
| dc.description | Este artigo lida com o conceito de abdução presente na obra teórico-crítica de Umberto Eco. O objetivo principal consiste em mostrar como, ao abordar as questões relativas à interpretação da obra de arte, Umberto Eco desvalorizou o aspecto estético da fruição artística em favor de uma concepção cognitivista, calcada numa semiótica representacionalista. Além disso, pretende evidenciar o parentesco da noção de abdução com o conceito de juízo teleológico de Kant. Por fim, como conclusão, oferece-se uma análise de algumas consequências não vislumbradas por Eco nessa associação entre a semiótica e a estética de cunho kantiano. | |
