| dc.description | Transcurría 1976, un año más para la mayoría, no para Luis Tarara, hijo de una gran familia de la ciudad de Quito, quien con honores había terminado su carrera de medicina en la Universidad Central del Ecuador. El joven médico ambicionaba dinero y aventuras, haría lo que fuere por conseguirlo. Se embarcó en una caravana de petroleros rumbo al oriente, para explorar y explotar petróleo, esta aventura le pareció una gran oportunidad de superación tanto personal como profesional. El viaje no fue fácil, las rutas de acceso al oriente eran escasas, caóticas y muy peligrosas, otra expedición ya había fracasado en su intento, pero a Luis no le importó y se obstinó con este viaje. En el trayecto oía historias despectivas y peyorativas en contra de los pueblos originarios, a los cuales los describían como seres salvajes, pestilentes, inferiores, incivilizados y peligrosos. | es-ES |

The young doctor had ambitions for money and adventure, he would do anything to get it. He embarked on a caravan of oil tankers heading east, to explore and exploit oil. This adventure seemed to him to be a great opportunity for both personal and professional growth. The trip was not easy, the access routes to the east were scarce, chaotic and very dangerous, another expedition had already failed in its attempt, but Luis did not care and was obstinate about this trip. On the way he heard derogatory and pejorative stories against the native peoples, who were described as wild, pestilential, inferior, uncivilized and dangerous beings. | en-US |
