| dc.description | En las provincias ecuatorianas de Azuay y Cañar el "Virus del Mosaico Común del
fréjol" (BCMV, Bean Common Mosaic Virus) ha llegado a constituir un limitante
para la producción del fréjol (Phaseolus vulgarís L). Además, en el resto del país
no se disponía de diagnósticos confiables de virus de esta leguminosa. Esto
condujo a realizar la presente investigación en los laboratorios e invernaderos de
la Estación Experimental Santa Catalina del INIAP4, con los objetivos de identificar
los virus de fréjol en ciertas zonas de la región interandina del Ecuador, identificar
las cepas de BCMV y evaluar 31 genotipos de fréjol frente a estas cepas.
Para la identificación de virus se realizó un recorrido por las provincias de
Imbabura, Chimborazo, Azuay, Cañar y Loja obteniéndose 60 muestras con
virosis aparente, de las cuales se seleccionaron cinco aislamientos para ser
identificados. De acuerdo a la provincia donde fueron colectados se los
denominó Imbabura 1, Imbabura 2, Azuay, Loja y Chimborazo. | |
| dc.description | Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV) is one the main restrictions in the production
of bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) in the Ecuadorian provinces of Azuay and Cañar.
Moreover, there were not reliable diagnostics of viruses of this legume in the rest of
the country. The present research was done at Santa Catalina Experimental
Station of the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIAP). The objectives of
this study were (1) to identify the bean viruses in certain zones of the Andean
region; (2) to identify the strains of BCMV and (3) to evaluate the reaction of 31
bean genotypes against the strains previously identified.
For virus identification it was collected 60 samples with possible virosis in the
provinces of Imbabura, Chimborazo, Azuay, Cañar and Loja. | |
