dc.description.abstractThe aim of this work was to implement a control system in the balanced dog kibble production process at Balanceados Exibal using Key Performance Indicators (KPI). An applicative methodology was used, starting with the collection of information on the initial state of efficiency and effectiveness of the different operations that generate added value to the raw material, through the design of specific key performance indicators for that operation. The status and management range for each indicator developed was also determined, using the Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound (SMART) method, to determine whether the objectives set are being met. Then, the control system was developed, in which the KPIs were determined, establishing responsibilities, improvement plans, control questionnaires, and the frequency of data collection. Finally, the control system based on the UNE 66175 standard was implemented in Exibal Balanced Products, and after seven weeks of application, information was collected on the initial data. The results obtained in the percentages of variation were 10, 4, and 19 %, respectively. In terms of energy productivity, a percentage improvement of less than 1% was achieved, in terms of efficiency and effectiveness within the production process, an increase of 5% was achieved, together with a 6% reduction in waste. In conclusion, the company's production process of dog kibble is showing an upward trend in terms of machine productivity and labor costs Hiring a specialist in data collection is recommended to ensure the continuity of process control through the control system designed for Balanceados Exibal.
