dc.description.abstract | The objective of the current curricular integration work is to develop a web and mobile system that facilitates the teaching-learning process of the English language in school children in the Escuela fiscomisional “San José” of the city of Piñas-Ecuador. We utilized the agile SCRUM methodology, which allowed the correct management of the project, and it allowed us to obtain 75 functional requirements and 11 non-functional requirements. On the other hand, thanks to a comparative study of useful technologies for the development of the system, we chose the Ionic frameworks and Angular frameworks for the frontend development of the mobile and web application respectively and CodeIgniter for the backend of both applications. After the development of the system, called Hello World, a test was carried out on the two courses of the fifth grade of the “San José” school to measure their knowledge. The course A, which utilized the developed system, exceeded in an 8.10% his peers of course B who utilized traditional learning methods. Furthermore, we evaluated the usability of the web application with the use of the SUS questionnaire, which gave the qualification of "A" equivalent to Excellent, demonstrating the great usability of the application. Similarly, with the use of the PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix tools, it was possible to know that the platform has an excellent user experience. It is concluded that the platform is easy to use and very useful for learning the English language, and we also recommend the use of the Hello World platform in other educational branches. | |
