| dc.description | Introducción: la gonartrosis es una condición inflamatoria, crónica y
degenerativa que afecta a los distintos compartimentos de la articulación de
la rodilla. Representa una de las principales enfermedades incapacitantes en
pacientes mayores de 40 años que presentan otros factores asociados como
obesidad, sexo femenino y antecedentes quirúrgicos articulares. La
progresión de esta patología culmina en la colocación de una prótesis articular
mediante la artroplastia primaria de rodilla. Metodología: es un estudio de
enfoque descriptivo, observacional, transversal y retrospectivo de pacientes
de mayores de 40 años con gonartrosis y artroplastia primaria de rodilla
atendidos en el área de Traumatología del Hospital Teodoro Maldonado Carbo
durante el periodo 2019-2021. Resultados: se obtuvieron 248 pacientes, la
prevalencia de gonartrosis primaria fue del 39,11% y de la secundaria fue del
60,89%. La edad media fue de 73 años predominando el grupo etario de 70 a
79 años. El sexo femenino fue más prevalente en ambos tipos de gonartrosis
con un 63,7% (p = 0,017). El IMC medio fue de 31,3 que corresponde a
obesidad grado 1 y dentro de las comorbilidades más comunes se encontró a
la hipertensión arterial (60,5%), diabetes mellitus tipo 2 (21,4%) y el
hipotiroidismo (21,0%). El 90,3% de los pacientes no tuvo ningún tipo de
fractura o lesión previa de tejidos blandos. La gonartrosis primaria se presentó
predominantemente de manera bilateral con un 75,3% y la secundaria de
manera unilateral con un 65,6% (p < 0,01). | |
| dc.description | Background: knee ostheoarthritis is a chronic, degenerative and inflammatory
condition that affects the different compartments of the knee articulation. It
represents one of the leading disablind disease in older patients above 40
years old that presents other risk factors as obesity, female sex and previous
articular surgical history. The progression of this condition ends up in
replacement of the knee articulation with a knee prosthesis through primary
knee arthroplasty. Methods: this work has a descriptive, observational,
transversal and retrospective focus in patients older than 40 years old with
knee osthearhtitis and primary arthroplasty that attended to the Traumatology
service at the Hospital Teodoro Maldonado Carbo during 2019 to 2021.
Results: in this study there were obtained 248 patients, prevalence of primary
knee osteoarthritis was 39,11% and secondary was 60.89%. Mean age was
73 years old with predominance of 70 to 79 years. Female sex was prevalent
in both types of knee ostheoarthritis with 63.7% (p=0,017). Mean body mass
