experimental, analítica sintética y no experimental.
dc.description | The main purpose of this research work is to propose the use of geothermal power
plants based on a technical economic feasibility study considering the efficiency and the
plant factor for the generation of electricity in a sustainable and continuous manner. To
achieve this objective, the thermal potential of Ecuador must be determined from the
geothermal map and technical parameters, in the same way to investigate the efficiency
between geothermal power plants of different types using the plant factor for design
optimization through a case study. of the Bocapozo thermal power plant The research
variables involved are the dependent efficiency due to the plant factor of the geothermal
power plants and the independent technical-economic feasibility study. The research
methodology is descriptive, qualitative, quantitative, non-experimental, synthetic analytical
and non-experimental. It is concluded that thanks to advances in the design of geothermal
plants, there are currently condensing wellhead plants on the market that have better
efficiency than traditional backpressure wellhead plants, where the latter can consume
around 75% more steam. . In addition, despite the fact that the cost of a backpressure
wellhead plant is normally 20% less than that of a condensing wellhead plant, this does not
achieve a financial advantage because generation is reduced by approximately 35%.
