| dc.description | El cáncer aumenta la vulnerabilidad de infección por Sars Covid-19; personas
que, debido al confinamiento en la pandemia, no acudieron de forma periódica
a las sesiones de tratamiento, lo que causó un mayor debilitamiento de su
sistema inmunológico. Objetivo: Determinar la prevalencia de Covid Sars 19
en pacientes oncológicos atendidos en el Hospital Abel Gilbert Pontón de la
ciudad de Guayaquil. Metodología: descriptivo, cuantitativo, retrospectivo, de
corte transversal. Población: 1308 pacientes del área de hospitalización que
cumplen con criterios de inclusión. Técnica: Observación indirecta,
Instrumento: Matriz de observación indirecta. Resultados: Entre las
características predominaron los pacientes de 53 a 63 años (25,23%), mujeres
(64,37%), de estado civil unión libre (42,43%), lugar de nacimiento costa
(99,08%), lugar de residencia urbana (95,57%), que presentó 2 veces COVID
(49,85%), con una duración de 2 semanas (50,15%) y con diabetes como
comorbilidad (31,27%); método diagnóstico: prueba de antígeno (44,08%);
manifestaciones clínicas: fiebre (95,08%), diarrea (95,08%) y dolor de cabeza
(85,63%) y con neumonía como complicación (56,04%). Conclusión: La tasa
de prevalencia de Sars Covid-19 en pacientes oncológicos, es de 1.07 casos
por cada 1.000 personas atendidas. El riesgo de infección por Covid-19 es
mayor en la población oncológica. La mortalidad y morbilidad, se ve afectada
por la edad, comorbilidad y antecedentes. Por lo que, para ayudar a reducir
esta prevalencia, es necesaria la participación de personal de enfermería a
través de su contacto directo con los pacientes, motivándolos a continuar con
su tratamiento y sus debidos controles médicos. | |

Objective: To determine the prevalence of Covid Sars 19 in cancer
patients treated at the Abel Gilbert Pontón Hospital in the city of Guayaquil.
Methodology: descriptive, quantitative, retrospective, cross-sectional.
Population: 1308 patients from the hospitalization area who meet the
inclusion criteria. Technique: Indirect observation, Instrument: Indirect
observation matrix. Results: Among the characteristics, patients aged 53
to 63 years (25.23%), women (64.37%), civil union status (42.43%), place
of birth coast (99.08%) prevailed, urban place of residence (95.57%), who
presented covid twice (49.85%), lasting 2 weeks (50.15%) and with
diabetes as comorbidity (31.27%); diagnostic method: antigen test
(44.08%); clinical manifestations: fever (95.08%), diarrhea (95.08%) and
headache (85.63%) and with pneumonia as a complication (56.04%).
Conclusion: The prevalence rate of Sars Covid-19 in cancer patients is
1.07 cases per 1,000 people attended. The risk of infection by Covid-19 is
higher in the cancer population. Mortality and morbidity are affected by
age, comorbidity, and history. Therefore, to help reduce this prevalence,
the participation of nursing personnel is necessary through their direct
contact with patients, motivating them to continue with their treatment and
due medical check-ups. | |
