dc.description | Mental disorders are increasingly prevalent in the world's population, occurring in
infants and adults equally. Resident physicians are susceptible to suffer a depressive
or generalized anxiety disorder, due to the emotional and physical wear and tear
present in their work environment. The main objective of this research was to create a
proposal related to psychoeducation about depressive disorder and generalized
anxiety, in order to achieve greater knowledge and understanding of these disorders,
so that once the symptoms are identified and they can go to a mental health
professional. This research was conducted under a mixed methodology, where a
survey of open and closed questions was used through the Google Forms platform.
Likewise, cognitive behavioral theory was used as a theoretical frame of reference,
specifically second generation therapies such as Rational Emotive Therapy, Cognitive
Therapy and Problem Solving Therapy. Likewise, third generation therapies such as;
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulnessbased Stress Reduction and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy. On the other hand,
within this research, statistical data were obtained on the symptomatology of resident
physicians before and after entering their residency program, which showed various
results regarding how this symptomatology has been increasing or decreasing during
the residency program.
