| dc.description | El pie diabético es una infección causada en los tejidos profundos de la piel,
es muy común que conlleve a alteraciones neurológicas y distintos grados de
arteriopatía en las extremidades inferiores debido al tiempo prolongado de la
patología. Objetivo: Determinar la valoración del pie diabético en pacientes
atendidos en el Hospital de Especialidades del Instituto Ecuatoriano de
Seguridad Social de Guayaquil. Metodología: descriptivo, cuantitativo,
prospectivo, de corte transversal. Población: Pacientes con pie diabético.
Muestra: 123 pacientes con pie diabético que cumplen con criterios de
inclusión. Técnica: Observación indirecta, Instrumento: Matriz de
observación indirecta. Resultados: Entre las características
sociodemográficas, tienen edad entre 56 a 60 años (41%), sexo masculino
(67%), residencia urbana (99%), estado civil casado (53%), etnia mestiza
(93%), educación superior (58%), con ingreso de salario básico (47%); en
cuanto a la valoración, no presentaban dolor (63%), no refieren sensación de
quemazón (70%), no refieren sensaciones parestésicas (52%), claudicación
intermitente (71%), sensación de frialdad (70%), ellos mismo se cortan sus
uñas (69%), quedando con cortas con puntas (43%), realiza a diario la higiene
de pies (66%), acude a controles (62%) y vigila lesiones (56%). Según la
Escala de Wagner, presentaron grado 2 (36). Conclusión: Se evidenció al
realizar la valoración del pie diabético en los pacientes, que existen ciertos
factores asociados que aumentan la vulnerabilidad para las lesiones o
heridas, por tanto se hace necesario que en la institución, se establezcan
estrategias para prevenir este tipo de patologías y fomentar una cultura
saludable en los pacientes con diabetes. | |

common that it leads to neurological alterations and different degrees of
arteriopathy in the lower extremities due to the prolonged time of the pathology.

Instrument: Indirect observation matrix. Results: Among the
sociodemographic characteristics, they are between 56 and 60 years old
(41%), male (67%), urban residence (99%), married marital status (53%),
mestizo ethnicity (93%), higher education (58%), with basic salary income
(47%); Regarding the evaluation, they did not present pain (63%), they did not
refer a burning sensation (70%), they did not refer tingling (52%), intermittent
claudication (71%), a sensation of coldness (70%), they themselves they cut
their nails (69%), keeping them short with tips (43%), perform foot hygiene
daily (66%), attend check-ups (62%) and monitor injuries (56%). According to
the Wagner Scale, they presented grade 2 (36). Conclusion: When evaluating
the diabetic foot in patients, it is evident that there are certain associated
factors that increase the vulnerability in presenting injuries or wounds in the
diabetic foot, therefore it is necessary that the institution establish a strategy
to prevent this type. pathologies and promote a healthy culture in patients with
