| dc.description | Problema: Con las técnicas de planificación convencionales se puede realizar un buen diagnóstico,
sin embargo el paciente no siempre tiene la oportunidad de visualizar los resultados finales y la
comunicación visual entre profesionales no siempre es la mejor. Con el manejo de diseño digital de
sonrisa se mejorará la comunicación y los resultados serán exitosos. Objetivo: Investigar los
beneficios y criterios de la implementación del DSD en la planificación de tratamientos para la
rehabilitación estética y funcional. Materiales y métodos: Revisión sistemática de tipo analítica,
descriptiva, cualitativa, no experimental y de método deductivo en la búsqueda de bibliografía,
basado en artículos hasta 5 años de antigüedad mediante metabuscadores como Pubmed, Web of
Science, Cochrane Library y Google Académico y la plataforma de búsqueda de artículos de la
Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil. Se utilizó análisis P.I.C.O.S. para la obtención de
palabras clave. Resultados: Se estableció que DSD es una herramienta innovadora ya que permite
la evaluación del paciente aplicando los parámetros estéticos de forma digital y así permitir la mejora
de comunicación del equipo interdisciplinario y con el paciente. Discusión: C. Coachman en el 2007
propuso el protocolo DSD basado en el análisis de fotografías intraorales y extraorales del paciente.
Meereis et al., y Fung et al., concuerdan que existen grandes ventajas frente a los métodos
convencionales en el flujo de trabajo digital respecto a DSD en odontología. Conclusión: DSD
optimiza la práctica odontológica para obtener resultados más precisos y así lograr una
rehabilitación estética y funcional ideal. | |
| dc.description | Problem: With conventional planning techniques a good diagnosis can be made, however the
patient does not always have the opportunity to visualize the final results and visual communication
between professionals is not always the best. With the management of digital smile design (DSD),
communication will be improved and the results will be successful. Objective: Investigate the
benefits and criteria of the implementation of the DSD in the planning of treatments for aesthetic and
functional rehabilitation. Materials and methods: Systematic review of analytical, descriptive,
qualitative, non-experimental type and deductive method in the search of bibliography, based on
articles up to 5 years old through metasearch engines such as Pubmed, Web of Science, Cochrane
Library and Google Scholar and the article search platform of the Catholic University of Santiago de
Guayaquil. P.I.C.O.S. analysis was used. to get keywords. Results: It was established that DSD is
an innovative tool since it allows the evaluation of the patient by applying the aesthetic parameters
digitally through software which will allow the improvement of communication between the
interdisciplinary team and with the patient. Discussion: C. Coachman in 2007 proposed the DSD
protocol that is based on the analysis of intraoral and extraoral photographs of the patient through
software. Meereis et al., and Fung et al., agree that there are great advantages over conventional
methods in digital workflow with respect to DSD in dentistry. Conclusion: DSD optimizes the dental
practice to obtain more precise results and thus achieve an ideal aesthetic and functional
rehabilitation. | |
