deterioro cognitivo, 18% deterioro cognitivo leve y 10% deterioro cognitivo
deterioro cognitivo. | |

period greater than 12 months. Recent studies have shown the presence of estrogen
receptors in the CNS, with special attention to the hypothalamus and hippocampus,

predisposes women to suffer cognitive decline. In the present study, a sample of 100
peri-menopausal and menopausal women who underwent Folstein’s Mini-Mental

As a result, it was obtained that 44% did not suffer from cognitive impairment, 28%
suffered from suspected cognitive impairment, 18% suffered from mild cognitive
impairment, and 10% suffered from moderate cognitive impairment; the most common
age to present cognitive impairment was 64 years. In addition, a significant association
was found between the degree of education and the suffering of cognitive impairment;
the absence of intellectual activities was associated with cognitive impairment. On the
contrary, no significant relationship was found between the suffering of comorbidities
and the presence of cognitive impairment. | |
