This paper is an attempt to design and provide a model of graduate profile for a new branch of specialization in the field of Video Game Translation, available for students that have completed the minor in translation in the school of English Language of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil. This graduate profile comprises a detailed description of all the different skills that a translator will be required to work efficiently in this field. It seeks to help the translator get used to the common issues found while working with video games and the processes they need to get familiar with in order to comply with their work. The School of English Language will be able to create an academic curriculum based on this graduate profile and open a specialization program that covers all the knowledge and training appropriate for a translator that is interested in working in this field.
