| dc.description | The purpose of this research was to propose sustainability indicators to promote tourism enterprises in the destination of Puerto López, for this purpose, an exploratory and descriptive, non-experimental research was established. The work consisted of three phases; in phase 1, the destination was characterised, the ventures were categorised and the economic, social and environmental aspects of a sample of 55 tourism ventures were evaluated, and the SWOT, EFE and EFI matrices were used to determine the external and internal factors that affect tourism ventures. In phase 2, the tourist's perception of the ventures was measured by applying a questionnaire to 194 tourists, using stakeholder matrices to determine the management carried out by the entities focused on the development of tourism ventures. In phase 3, the indicators were proposed and validated using a focus group technique, and finally it was proposed to whom they were addressed for their subsequent use. It became evident that the destination of Puerto López, despite its wealth of tourism activities, needs to improve the environmental, social and economic management of tourism enterprises, as these form part of the economic dynamisation of the canton. In effect, a total of 30 indicators were validated, of which 12 are linked to the social dimension, 6 to the economic dimension and 12 to the environmental dimension. In conclusion, these indicators were adapted to be applied in measuring the sustainability of tourism enterprises in the canton of Puerto López through the local government and NGOs. | |
| dc.description | El propósito de esta investigación fue proponer indicadores de sostenibilidad para promover los emprendimientos turísticos en el destino Puerto López, para esto, se estableció una investigación de tipo exploratoria y descriptiva, no experimental. El trabajo constó de tres fases; en la fase 1, se caracterizó el destino, se categorizaron los emprendimientos y se evaluaron los aspectos económicos, sociales y ambientales a una muestra de 55 emprendimientos turísticos, además se utilizaron las matrices FODA, EFE y EFI para determinar los factores externos e internos que afectan a los emprendimientos turísticos. En la fase 2 se midió la percepción del turista frente a los emprendimientos aplicando un cuestionario a 194 turistas, mediante el uso de matrices de involucrados, se determinó la gestión que realizan las entidades enfocadas en el desarrollo de los emprendimientos turísticos. En la fase 3 se propusieron y se validaron los indicadores técnica de grupo focal, finalmente se propuso a quienes iban dirigidos para su posterior uso. Se evidenció que el destino Puerto López, a pesar de tener riqueza en actividades turísticas, necesita mejorar la gestión ambiental, social y económica de los emprendimientos turísticos ya que estos forman parte de la dinamización económica del cantón. En efecto, se validaron un total de 30 indicadores, de los cuales 12 se vinculan a la dimensión social, 6 a la dimensión económica y 12 a la dimensión ambiental, en conclusión, estos indicadores fueron adaptados aplicarlos en la medición de la sostenibilidad de los emprendimientos turísticos en el cantón Puerto López a través del gobierno local y las ONG. | |
