| dc.description | In this paper an analysis of multidimensional poverty in the city Olmedo of the province of Loja is performed, in 2013, from the non-monetary perspective and taking some variables of human well-being such as health, education and standard of life.
The index of multidimensional poverty, based on a new methodology that indicates the number of people living in households "multidimensionally poor" and what is the depth of poverty was used.
The main objective was to determine the level of multidimensional poverty of households in the canton Olmedo, in the province of Loja, measured by the index of multidimensional poverty in 2013, with the aim of providing a better measure for decision making of those responsible for economic and social policy, in terms of poverty reduction in the canton.
An analysis of poverty in urban and rural level is done by determining the latter is the most affected by this phenomenon.
The 33.68% of the population living in poor households, who are deprived in at least 3 indicators; Of these, 31.53% are rural and 2.15% are concentrated in urban areas, the poor medium is deprived in more than 4 indicators. | |
| dc.description | En el presente trabajo se realiza un análisis de la pobreza multidimensional en el cantón Olmedo de la provincia de Loja, en el año 2013, desde la perspectiva no monetaria y tomando algunas variables del bienestar del ser humano como son: salud, educación y nivel de vida.
Para ello se utilizó el índice de pobreza multidimensional, basado en una metodología nueva que, indica el número de personas que viven en hogares “pobres multidimensionalmente” y, cuál es la profundidad de la pobreza.
El objetivo principal fue determinar el nivel de pobreza multidimensional de los hogares del cantón Olmedo, de la provincia de Loja, medido a través del índice de pobreza multidimensional, en el año 2013, con el propósito de brindar una mejor medida para la toma de decisiones de los responsables de política económica y social, en cuanto a la reducción de la pobreza en el cantón.
Se realiza un análisis del nivel de pobreza a nivel urbano y rural, determinando que esta última es la más afectada por este fenómeno.
El 33.68% de la población viven en hogares pobres, que están privados en al menos 3 indicadores; de estos, el 31.53% corresponde a la zona rural y el 2.15% se concentran en el área urbana, el pobre medio sufre privaciones en más de 4 indicadores. | |
