dc.descriptionBeing a Cantonal interest the proper waste management, the present study had the purpose of evaluating the treatment of the same in the different services of basic and specialized clinical laboratory of private character, through a descriptive investigation, that according to Morán seeks to specify properties, characteristics important profiles of people, groups subjected to analysis. (1) With a methodology of Inductive character, and documental analysis, allowed to arrive at the discovery of the scientific truth, through the generalization of the observed behavior. (2) It was sought to know the appreciation and knowledge of the problem both of the degree of understanding of laws on pollution, equipment, forms of treatment of different types of waste, documentation required and training of staff, using the anonymous survey as a tool and interviews with entities Involved in environmental management. With results of interest such as: 31,58% They know the sanctions in the country that indicate penalties for contamination of the environment by infectious material contagious and others. 59,65% They consider in total to make an appropriate waste management. 64.91% Consider having trained and trained personnel responsible for the management and treatment of waste 42.11% They have a manual that indicates how to do the management of wastes 24.56% Of the laboratories have autoclaves to use both clean material and waste management. 70.7% Do not disinfect waste dumps in laboratories. dc.descriptionSiendo un interés Cantonal el manejo adecuado de los desechos, el presente estudio tuvo como finalidad valorar el tratamiento de los mismos en los diferentes servicios de laboratorio clínico básicos y especializados de carácter privado, mediante una investigación descriptiva, que según Morán busca especificar propiedades, características perfiles importantes de personas, grupos sometidos a análisis. (1) Con una metodología de carácter Inductivo, y análisis documental, permitió llegar al descubrimiento de la verdad científica, mediante la generalización del comportamiento observado. (2) Se buscó conocer la apreciación y el conocimiento de la problemática tanto del grado de comprensión de leyes sobre contaminación, equipamiento, formas de tratamiento de los diferentes tipos de desecho, documentación requerida y capacitación del personal, utilizando como herramienta la encuesta anónima y entrevistas hacia entidades involucradas en el manejo ambiental.Con resultados de interés tales como: 31,58% Conocen las sanciones en el país que indican penas por contaminación del medio ambiente por material infectocontagioso y otros. 59,65% Consideran en su totalidad hacer un adecuado manejo de desechos. 64.91% Consideran haber entrenado y capacitado al personal encargado del manejo y tratamiento de los desechos 42,11% Poseen un manual que indica cómo hacer el manejo de desechos 24,56% De los laboratorios poseen autoclaves para utilizar tanto el material limpio como para manejo de desechos. 70.7% No desinfecta los basureros de uso en los laboratorios. No se le da tratamiento al 97% de las orinas, 98% de heces y 70.1% de las sangres procesadas.es-ES
