dc.descriptionEl estudio de los nombres propios reviste un interés particular, en la medida en que el acto de nombrar pone de manifiesto distintas dimensiones de la relación entre lenguaje y cultura. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar las características morfosintácticas y semánticas de los nombres propios en tapiete (tupí-guaraní), a la luz de las prácticas culturales de asignación de nombres, los cambios sociales que este grupo ha atravesado en las últimas décadas y los procesos de desplazamiento en el uso de la lengua originaria, en contacto con el español. Este trabajo se asienta en la información contenida en una base de datos de 130 antropónimos recogidos entre hablantes de las comunidades tapietes de Tartagal y Misión La Curvita, Argentina, y, en menor medida, entre hablantestapietes de Bolivia, a partir de nuestro propio trabajo de campo y de fuentes secundarias. Nos proponemos indagar en las características formales y semánticas de los nombres propios en tapiete, teniendo en cuenta que la interacción entre estas dimensiones es portadora de un significado pragmática y culturalmente motivado. Palabras clave: Léxico; antroponimia; tapiete; tupí-guaraní; Gran Chaco AbstractThe study of proper names is of particular interest insofar as the act of naming reveals different dimensions of the relationship between language and culture. The aim of this paper was to analyze the morphosyntactic and semantic characteristics of proper names in Tapiete (Tupi-Guarani), in light of the cultural practices of naming, the social changes that this group has undergone in recent decades, and the displacement processes in the use of the original language in contact with Spanish. This research isbased on the information contained in a database of 130 anthroponyms collected among Tapiete speakers of Tartagal and Misión La Curvita, Argentina, and, to a lesser extent, of Bolivia, and from our own fieldwork and secondary sources. We intend to approachthe formal and semantic characteristics of proper names in Tapiete, on the premise that the interaction between these dimensions is the bearer of pragmatic and culturally motivated meanings.
