dc.description.abstract | Background: at the end of 2019, the entire world found an unknown virus, SARS-CoV2, the causative agent of COVID 19, a disease that spread rapidly, infecting 600 million people and causing death, up to to date, 5.6 million. In Ecuador, a total of 480,720 cases of infection and 21,466 deaths have been reported up to January 2022. At the national level, the vaccination process began on January 21, 2021, however, until March 2023, more of 6.8 million deaths. Objective: Identify the knowledge, attitudes, and practices that the inhabitants of the El Valle - Cuenca parish have about vaccination against COVID 19. Methods: descriptive, cross-sectional research, with a universe of 16,431 inhabitants of legal age from the El Valle parish and a sample of 375 people chosen at random. With a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of 5%. For the collection of information, we applied a survey elaborated and validated with 2.66% of the sample. The data was processed using the SPSS22 software. The results are presented in simple and contingency tables. Results: 74.4% of the studied population has regular knowledge about vaccination against COVID 19; 85.3% have unfavorable attitudes and 47.2% have adequate practices. Although men showed better knowledge figures, their attitudes and practices were lower, but this was not the case in the group of women, where the figures speak of an inverse behavior, less knowledge, but better attitudes and practices. | |
