dc.description.abstractThe world faces an environmental crisis of great concern, mostly caused by the way of consumption, with the construction industry being the most polluting sector, the responsibility falls on architecture as the main actor to promote change. In Ecuador, since social housing is the most relevant construction because it is intended for the most vulnerable sector of the population, it becomes the ideal scenario for the study of new positions that help create more user-friendly proposals and adaptable to the context site. This investigation work seeks a new vision of how to build social housing, complying with the criteria of circular architecture. Acquiring in the process knowledge about social and evolutionary housing, determinants of circular architecture, materials and case studies. Based on this theoretical support, it is developed a preliminary project for social housing based on the principles of circular architecture, considering the particularities of zones 1 and 3 according to the NEC.
