dc.description.abstract | Background: The responsibility of nursing in collective health care was affected by criticism and judgments of its commitment and performance in the care of groups, individuals, families and the community itself. This situation forced these professionals to reflect on their role in society in Guayaquil.
Objectives: To describe the responsibility of nursing in collective health care. Guayaquil. 2022.
Methods: This is a qualitative study, with ethnographic method. The participants were 16 nurses working in Guayaquil. Snowball sampling was used until theoretical saturation was reached. There were 3 focus groups, in which the guiding guide of questions is used. Participants authorized the recording of the interviews and signed the informed consent. For the analysis, ATLAS.ti 9.1.7 software was used for its organization and used the Constant Comparison Method (MCC). Scientific rigor is carried out with the criterion of credibility and triangulation of data.
Results: As a result, nursing commitment to collective care, nursing performance in health promotion in improving quality of life, nursing participation in environmental and cultural environments and, finally, nursing management in the health-disease process, from collective health
Conclusions: The responsibility of nursing is described through the behavior and performance of nursing, which participants attribute to collective health care, ensuring empathic, timely and quality care, but above all human, being recognized as a social, cultural, and political framework as a whole on which the collective health of Guayaquil rests. | |
