dc.description | Flexibility is a fundamental essential physical capacity of the human being since it allows us to carry out demanding movements for the joints and muscles of our body, it not only serves us in the sports field, but we also find it in everyday daily actions. The objective of the research was to develop flexibility in pre-juvenile players and to analyze the incidence of the training of this physical capacity in the muscular power of the legs in young volleyball players of 14 and 15 years of age.
The methodology used was a study with a quantitative, cross-sectional approach and experimental design. Two groups were formed, an experimental group and a control group. An intervention based on flexibility training was carried out with the experimental group. Two tests were used as instruments: Trunk Flexion or Krauss Weber (flexibility) and Vertical Jump Test or Sargent (Leg power). They allowed us to know the initial physical level of the players of both groups. They trained for 12 weeks, three days a week. At the beginning of each training, the experimental group was subjected to flexibility training for 15 minutes while the control group performed regular training.
In the final results, it was found that the experimental group presented relevant changes to the control group, obtaining a significant difference of 1.96 cm as a final average in power between both groups, so it could be concluded that training flexibility has a positive effect in leg power and therefore in the favorable muscle development of pre-juvenile volleyball players.
