| dc.description | Ecuador has several natural resources, such as Water Reservoir; even though, in Ecuador, we do not have an adequate water service due to infrastructure, efficiency, and service management issues. Therefore, correct planning and management of water resources must be carried out, starting with having the right information about the usage of water service to obtain the correct Kd coefficient. In this research, an analysis of the historical usage of water service compares the averages of each month in each year. Data was collected on the monthly demand of the residential sector of the urban population of the district from 2010 to 2020 to proceed with the elimination of negative data. With the Minitab software, the exclusion of outliers that could give an erroneous conclusion in the investigation was achieved. Subsequently, the Anova statistical analysis was performed with the Tukey test to determine if the means are significantly different. As a result, it was obtained that in June 2020, there was a maximum demand compared to the other historical months, apparently due to the emigration of the city to the smaller neighboring towns. This is due to the confinement that was produced by the COVID-19 disease. Additionally, the coefficient of variation of monthly consumption Kd was calculated, obtaining a value of 1.35, which is within the range (1.3-1.5) specified in the CPE INEN 005-9-1 Standard | |
| dc.description | Ecuador posee varios recursos naturales como las reservas de agua, pero a pesar de ello no se tiene un acceso apropiado a los servicios de agua potable debido por problemas de infraestructura, eficiencia y gestión de servicio. Por lo que se debe realizar una correcta planificación y gestión de los recursos hídricos, empezando por tener una información más acertada sobre el consumo de agua potable para poder obtener el coeficiente Kd correcto. En esta investigación se realizó un análisis de los consumos históricos de agua potable comparando las medias de cada mes en cada año. Se recolectó los datos del consumo mensual del sector residencial de la población urbana del cantón desde el año 2010 hasta el año 2020 para proceder a la depuración con la eliminación de los datos negativos. Con el software Minitab se consiguió la exclusión de los datos atípicos que puedan dar una conclusión errónea en la investigación. Posteriormente se realizó el análisis estadístico Anova con la prueba Tukey para determinar si las medias son significativamente diferentes. Como resultados se obtuvo que en el mes de junio del año 2020 se dio un consumo máximo comparado con los otros meses históricos aparentemente por la emigración de la ciudad a los pueblos aledaños más pequeños, esto debido al confinamiento que se produjo por la enfermedad COVID-19.
