dc.descriptionThis thesis project aims to provide “Calizas Huayco S.A” with a new proposal which would modify its current electrical protection system by using advanced technological relaying equipment in order to satisfy operative, technical and economical criteria. After having carried out the entire recognition of “Calizas Huayco S.A”’s current electrical power system elements (conductors, transformers, capacitors, etc), the authors proceeded to develop load flow analysis and short circuit analysis in order to determine the current status of the electrical system. The analysis mentioned above were provided valuable information which was used to determine the main features and characteristics of the proposal concerning the electrical protection system. The objective of this new proposal is to increase the system’s reliability and efficiency.
