dc.descriptionDay by day, the construction industry requires the use of structural elements able to cover larger spans, demanding the use of elements with greater sections to support the acting loads, by using traditional methods and materials, the costs tend to rise, turning the civil work economically not performable and architectonically unattractive. Recent studies in the development of High Performance Concrete have succeeded in obtaining strengths higher than 150 MPa in simple compression test, and an important improvement in the performance characteristics. The development of this type of concretes in our country is something new, previous research in laboratory has been done to obtain High Performance Concrete using local materials and proportions already tested with success in other countries, product of this research, there have been able to characterize the materials and reach the targeted strengths. The next step and the objective of this research, consists in analyzing the feasibility to elaborate structural elements using High Performance Concrete, at great scale in our country, analyze the possible applications and their influence in the design and economy of construction projects.
