First, it presents the airangements and perspectives of the regional integration scheme. Then it characterizes the agricultural sector in the region, and reviews several studies which aim to identify the impacts of the formation of the free trade area, taking into consideration the existing asymmetries and distortions, the possibilities of polarization and unequal distribution of the benefits and costs associated with the process. | |
