COVID-19 and academic performance: challenges and opportunities for basic education students in the rural sector

dc.descriptionEn el mundo entero, sin dejar de lado a ningún país por su rápida propagación del coronavirus 19 (COVID 19) entendido como una enfermedad contagiosa ha desencadenado cambios dentro de la construcción de convivencia no solo personal, familiar; sino que ha trascendido a escenarios laborales, comerciales, de salud, educación, entre otros.  El presente trabajo tuvo por objetivo diagnosticar el impacto del COVID 19 en el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes del sector rural de una unidad educativa régimen Sierra. La metodología utilizada fue el  método inductivo predictivo que favoreció la descripción de las características que han influido en el rendimiento académico  de la muestra estudiada  basado en la investigación cualitativa  amparado en la recopilación de información documental de medidas tomadas a través de las diferentes carteras ministeriales en especial de la educación, en la revisión de publicaciones, datos arrojados por parte del distrito y entrevistas virtuales a docentes, y estudiantes y padres de familia de la Unidad Educativa que permitió a través de un diagnóstico social  casual determinó que la pandemia actual vivida ha causado impacto en el rendimiento académico entendido no como  el resultado de lo aprendido dentro de un ciclo académico sino  de lo requerido que  responde a una política emergente  expresada a través de una calificación. ABSTRACT: Throughout the world, without neglecting any country due to its rapid spread, the coronavirus 19 (COVID 19), understood as a contagious disease, has triggered changes within the construction of coexistence not only personal, family; rather, it has transcended to work, commercial, health, education, among others. The objective of this work was to diagnose the impact of COVID 19 on the academic performance of students in the rural sector of an educational unit in the Sierra regime. The methodology used was the inductive predictive method that favored the description of the characteristics that have influenced the academic performance of the studied sample based on qualitative research supported by the compilation of documentary information on measures taken through the different ministerial portfolios in particular of education, in the review of publications, data thrown by the district and virtual interviews with teachers, and students and parents of the Educational Unit that allowed through a casual social diagnosis determined that the current pandemic experienced has caused an impact in academic performance understood not as the result of what has been learned within an academic cycle but rather of what is required that responds to an emerging policy expressed through a qualification.
