dc.descriptionOver the past three and a half decades, interest in listening to the silences in the official archives has grown. In the area that concerns me as a researcher and curator of Latin American, Caribbean and Latin art in the United States, I have had the opportunity to work and study projects that seek to trace the memory of certain moments in art history that have not been sufficiently studied, disseminated or put to use by the practice of art and curatorship. What constitutes memory, incidentally, is not necessarily written history, but in many cases what is sought to be rescued includes photographs, correspondence, musings, among others.en-US
dc.descriptionEn las últimas tres décadas y media, ha crecido el interés por escuchar los silencios de los archivos oficiales. En el área que me concierne como investigadora y curadora del arte latinoamericano, caribeño y latino de los Estados Unidos, he tenido la oportunidad de trabajar y estudiar proyectos que buscan trazar la memoria de ciertos momentos en la historia del arte que no han sido lo suficientemente estudiados, diseminados o puestos al uso de la práctica del arte y la curaduría. Aquello que constituye memoria, dicho sea de paso, no es necesariamente la historia escrita, sino que en muchos casos lo que se intenta rescatar incluye desde fotografías, correspondencias, cavilaciones, entre otros.es-ES
