| dc.description | We present an applied and comparative research related to two life scenarios of Ecuador, which occurred in October 2019 and March 2020. Where patients with facial trauma were presented. The objective of the investigation was to establish the prevalence of facial fractures in the patients of these two events. Similarities were found in the two cases and it was compared with world data, concluding that orbito-zygomatic trauma was the most common, which forces us to be prepared to attend to these patients who will surely present themselves more regularly in wards emergency of our hospitals. | en-US |
| dc.description | Presentamos una investigación aplicada y comparativa, relacionada con dos escenarios de la vida del Ecuador, ocurridos en octubre del 2019 y marzo del 2020. Donde se presentaron pacientes con traumatismos faciales. El objetivo de la investigación fue establecer la prevalencia de las fracturas faciales en los pacientes de estos dos eventos. Se encontraron similitudes en los dos casos y se comparó con los datos mundiales, sacándose como conclusión que los traumatismos orbito-cigomáticos fueron los más comunes, lo que nos obliga a estar preparados para atender estos pacientes que seguramente se presentarán con mayor regularidad en las salas de emergencia de nuestros hospitales.
