dc.descriptionABSTRACT Early treatment of malocclusion Class III returns harmony and functionality to the stomatognathic system by simplifying more complex corrective procedures. This type of treatment is important to provide the necessary conditions for growth and development of both the maxilla and jaw, making them become harmonious and thus avoiding unfavorable complications. This case exposes a 6-year-old female patient treated at the San Francisco de Quito University clinic. The patient presented class III malocclusion; her representative indicated that the patient possesses a class III hereditary pattern of her paternal family. The present case shows the use of Scheler's arch as a treatment option for this type of malocclusion in primary dentition after a precise diagnosis.   Key words: Early treatment, malocclusion Class III, Scheler's Archen-US
dc.descriptionRESUMEN El tratamiento temprano de maloclusión clase III devuelve la armonía y funcionalidad al sistema estomatognático simplificando procedimientos correctivos más complejos. Este tipo de tratamiento es importante para proporcionar las condiciones necesarias de crecimiento y desarrollo tanto del maxilar como de la mandíbula, haciendo que estos se vuelvan armónicos y evitando de esta manera complicaciones desfavorables. Este caso expone un paciente de 6 años, de sexo femenino tratada en la clínica de la Universidad San Francisco de Quito. La paciente presentaba maloclusión clase III; su representante indicó que la paciente posee un patrón hereditario clase III de su familia paterna. El presente caso muestra el uso del arco de Scheler como una opción de tratamiento a este tipo de maloclusión en dentición primaria después de un diagnóstico preciso.es-ES
