The following research project aims to comprehend suicidal ideation among medical students at a private university in Quito in 2023, this in order to discover the severity of suicidal desire. Due to its ability to guarantee outcomes in a more general sense, a quantitative methodology that is sequential and probatory was used, since it offers the possibility of guaranteeing results in a broader way. The instruments used to gather information included the Beck Scale for Suicidal Ideation, which considered three variables: ideation, protective factors, and attempts. The findings revealed that the investigated sample presents suicidal ideation among group of students, as well as the potential for a suicide attempt. It is important to note that protective factors act as a support network for students to reduce their risk.
