dc.description.abstractIn the present investigation, the goal was to design an automatic prototype for carousel-type parking using a programmable logic control, a mechanical, electrical and automated design with HMI and PLC was implemented. As a solution to the problem that the university is experiencing due to the lack of parking, traffic congestion in addition to the insecurity that the city experiences and the loss of time when parking the vehicle on the outskirts of the university. It was investigated what material is suitable for the construction of the pallets since it is where the vehicle will be parked, non-slip plates were considered to avoid slipping of the vehicle and to reinforce it IPN beams, likewise, other materials were investigated for the construction of the pallet in order to provide the safety of the users, for the transmission system a motor (reducer), gear system and chains were used where the correct option for the speed required was considered. For the HMI and PLC, 3 sensors were placed, one to have a better precision for the position of the , two, to know the time in which the vehicle will be parked and finally for the inversion of rotation in order to optimize energy and time. With this design, the reduction of vehicular congestion in the university will be sought, the reduction of cars parked on sidewalks and the loss of time that students have to park their vehicle, benefits are also obtained such as avoiding crashes and robberies since it will be in a zone safe from the university which would reassure the user.
