dc.descriptionAt the global level, social development has undergone great transformations related to higher education, and in the case of Ecuador it has not been exempt from it, therefore, in Ecuador the promotion of higher education is of vital importance, even more so now that processes are being carried out such as the change of the productive matrix, where higher education plays a fundamental role. The objective of this study was to analyze the impact of higher education on social development from an economic perspective in Ecuador. The methodology of the study was framed under the analytical matrix, the design used was non- experimental. For this, a descriptive study was carried out, applying the method of documentary analysis to elaborate the theoretical assumptions that respond to the situation found. The results obtained show that more than 50% of the graduate professionals do not have a job, despite the fact that there is quality investment in higher education; Social development indices could decrease in the coming years, so it is necessary to articulate employability strategies that allow new professionals to integrate into the system and be an active part of the country's socioeconomic development.en-US
dc.descriptionA nivel mundial, el desarrollo social ha sufrido grandes transformaciones relacionadas con la educación superior, y en el caso de Ecuador no ha estado exento de ello, por ello, en Ecuador resulta de vital importancia el impulso a la educación superior, más aún ahora que se están llevando a cabo procesos  como el cambio de la matriz productiva, donde la educación superior juega un papel fundamental. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar el impacto de la educación superior en el desarrollo social desde una perspectiva económica en el Ecuador. La metodología del estudio estuvo enmarcada bajo la matriz analítica, el diseño utilizado fue no experimental. Para ello se realizó un estudio de tipo descriptivo, aplicando el método de análisis documental para elaborar los supuestos teóricos que den respuesta a la situación encontrada. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que más del 50% los profesionales graduados no cuentan con empleo, a pesar que existe inversión de calidad en la educación superior; los índices de desarrollo social podrían obtener un decrecimiento en los próximos años, por lo que es necesario que se articulen estrategias de empleabilidad que le permitan a los nuevos profesionales a integrarse en el sistema y ser parte activa del desarrollo socioeconómico del países-ES
