dc.descriptionIntercultural communication in Afro-Ecuadorian communities makes it possible to effectively strengthen interpersonal relationships in the cultural diversity of peoples. The main objective of the study is to determine the influence of intercultural communication on the interpersonal relationships of the inhabitants of the Borbón parish, Eloy Alfaro canton of the Esmeraldas province, specifically, it sought to identify which are the types of intercultural communication, establish the advantages and disadvantages that affect intercultural communication, analyze the importance of intercultural communication when interacting with different cultures, where elements belonging to different cultures take advantage of cultural baggage as an enriching factor for knowledge and not as a barrier or cultural distancing. The quantitative, descriptive methodology, the inductive-deductive method from general to particular, in field work a virtual survey was carried out on an intentional sample of 54 people randomly in the selected community. It is concluded that the Afro-descendant community presents a positive attitude when interacting with people of different cultures, which strengthens the intercultural approach when interacting in diverse cultural environments. It is important to consider that tolerance and respect for the different is a norm of coexistence, through Promotion of programs and projects focused on intercultural communication for the rescue of native customs and traditions, in priority communities with tolerance, respect and norms of coexistence in the search to help improve the quality of life of its inhabitants.en-US
dc.descriptionLa comunicación intercultural en las comunidades afro-ecuatorianas permite fortalecer de forma efectiva las relaciones interpersonales en la diversidad cultural de los pueblos. El estudio tiene como objetivo principal determinar la influencia de la comunicación intercultural en las relaciones interpersonales de los habitantes de la parroquia Borbón, cantón Eloy Alfaro de la provincia de Esmeraldas, de manera específica, se buscó identificar los tipos de comunicación intercultural, establecer la incidencia de sus ventajas y desventajas, analizar su importancia en las relaciones interculturales, donde los nativos   aprovechen el bagaje cultural foráneo como factor enriquecedor del conocimiento y no como una barrera o distanciamiento cultural. Se utilizó la metodología de tipo cuantitativo, y descriptivo, se aplicó el método inductivo-deductivo, en la labor de campo se realizó una encuesta virtual a una muestra intencional de 54 personas de forma aleatoria en la comunidad seleccionada.  Se concluyó que la comunidad de afrodescendientes presenta una actitud positiva al relacionarse con personas de culturas diferentes, lo cual fortalece el abordaje intercultural al interactuar en entornos culturales diversos Es importante considerar que la tolerancia y el respeto a la diversidad, es una norma de convivencia, que se fomenta mediante el impulso de programas y proyectos enfocados en la comunicación intercultural para el rescate de costumbres y tradiciones autóctonas, en las comunidades prioritarias para coadyuvar a mejorar la calidad de vida de sus habitantes.es-ES
