dc.descriptionThe study was carried out at the Rio Verde Production and Practices Center, belonging to the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Universidad Estatal Península de Santa Elena. Fieldwork included: observation pits, morphological description, and sampling of representative soil profiles, sampling of fertility in cultivated areas, and infiltration tests. The results of the analysis of the morphological, chemical and physical properties allowed to classify the soils as Typic Haplocambids. They are characterized by having a sandy-clay-loam texture and being well drained, but with little to moderate effective depth, low contents of organic matter, phosphorus and potassium. These last issues are limiting for some crops in addition to the typical water deficit of the area.en-US
dc.descriptionEl estudio se realizó en el Centro de Producción y Prácticas Río Verde, perteneciente a la Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias de la Universidad Estatal Península de Santa Elena, con el objetivo de identificar y caracterizar los suelos considerando parámetros  morfológicos, químicos y físicos. El trabajo de campo incluyó: levantamiento de puntos de observación, descripción morfológica y muestreo de perfiles, muestreo de fertilidad en áreas cultivadas, y pruebas de infiltración. Los resultados del análisis de las propiedades morfológicas, químicas y físicas permitieron clasificar los suelos como Typic Haplocambids, de textura franco-arcillo-arenosa, de buen drenaje, con poca a moderada profundidad efectiva, bajos contenidos de materia orgánica, de fósforo y de potasio, que podría ser limitante para algunos cultivos en adición al déficit hídrico característico del área.es-ES
