The present theoretical - practical work details information of the clinical case where the problem is malnutrition and iron deficiency anemia of the 5-year-old boy who lives in the city of Babahoyo with symptoms of general malaise, paleness, vomiting, etc; Its objective was to improve the nutritional status of the 5-year-old child with protein energy malnutrition and iron deficiency anemia, through which an exhaustive evaluation of his anthropometric, biochemical, clinical and dietary data was carried out in the latter, a disorder in the pattern could be verified. due to inadequate dietary intake in terms of unhealthy quantities and preparations. In this work, a food plan of 1500 calories was provided according to the socioeconomic level and daily requirements that the patient needs, this food plan was distributed in 5 meals a day, with hyperproteic, normocarbonated, normolipidic characteristics where nutritional supplementation was included twice. a day within the child's snacks. Through the monthly follow-up that was carried out on the child and nutritional counseling that was provided to the mother, it was possible to improve the BMI, as well as correct the nutritional deficits of the child with a malnutrition problem.

El presente trabajo teórico - práctico detalla información del caso clínico donde la problemática es la desnutrición y anemia ferropenica del niño de 5 años de edad que vive en la ciudad de Babahoyo con sintomatología de malestar general ,palidez ,vómitos etc; tuvo como objetivo mejorar el estado nutricional del niño de 5 años de edad con desnutrición proteica energética y anemia ferropenia mediante el cual se realizó una evaluación exhaustiva de sus datos antropométricos, bioquímicos, clínicos y dietéticos en este último se pudo verificar un desorden en el patrón alimentario por un inadecuada ingesta dietética en cuanto a cantidades y preparaciones poco saludables. En este trabajo se proporcionó un plan alimentario de 1500 calorías acorde al nivel socio económico y requerimientos diarios que necesita el paciente, este plan alimentario fue distribuido en 5 comidas al día, con características hiperproteica, normocarbonatada, normolipídica, donde se incluyó suplementación nutricional dos veces al día dentro de las colaciones del niño. A través del seguimiento mensual que se le realizo al niño y asesoría nutricional que se le brindo a la madre se logró mejorar el IMC, a su vez corregir déficits nutricionales del niño con problema de desnutrición.
