dc.description | Type 1 diabetes mellitus is a severe disease that can become chronic if immediate treatment is not applied. It originally occurs in children and adolescents with a permanent increase in blood glucose as a particular feature. The Pan American Health Organization mentions that, in Ecuador, diabetes has gained strength and affects a considerable percentage of people, through surveys carried out by the INEC, the prevalence of the condition in the population between 11 and 60 years of age is 2%, which is why it is indicated that 3 out of 20 Ecuadorians already have the pathology. The present development of the clinical case of a 12-year-old female patient diagnosed with type I diabetes mellitus, in which the nursing care process was applied, at the time of admission to the hospital presented a clinical picture accompanied by thirst , general malaise, tiredness, nausea, dizziness, pain in the epigastrium, afebrile, hypotensive, mild tachypnea, hemodynamically unstable as far as the doctor refers to his hospital admission, additional tests are performed to determine the final diagnosis. Within the care established in the patient by the nursing professional, it was possible to apply the taxonomies of Nanda, Nic, Noc, likewise it was based on the theory of functional patterns designed by Gordon, M. which were used in a correct way to determine the needs presented by the patient according to their altered functional patterns. | |

dc.description | La diabetes mellitus tipo 1 es una enfermedad severa que se puede tornar crónica si no se aplica un tratamiento inmediato, originalmente se da en niños y en adolescentes que tiene como particularidad un aumento permanente de la glicemia en la sangre. La Organización Panamericana de la Salud menciona que, en el Ecuador, la diabetes ha tomado fuerza y afecta en un porcentaje considerable a las personas, mediante encuestas realizadas por el INEC la prevalencia de afección en población de entre 11 a 60 años es del 2%, por lo que se indica que de 20 ecuatorianos 3 ya cursan la patología. El presente desarrollo del caso clínico de una paciente de sexo femenino de 12 años de edad con diagnóstico de diabetes mellitus tipo I, en el cual se aplicó el proceso de atención de Enfermería, al momento de ingresar al hospital presentó un cuadro clínico acompañado de sed, malestar generalizado, cansancio, náuseas, mareos, dolor en el epigastrio, afebril, hipotenso, taquipnea leve, hemodinámicamente inestable por lo que el médico refiere su ingreso hospitalario, se le realiza exámenes complementarios para determinar el diagnóstico final. Dentro del cuidado establecido en la paciente por parte del profesional de Enfermería se logró aplicar las taxonomías de Nanda, Nic, Noc, así mismo se basó en la teoría de los patrones funcionales diseñados por Gordon, M. el cual fueron empleados de una manera correcta para determinar las necesidades que presentaba la paciente de acuerdo a sus patrones funcionales alterados. | |
