dc.descriptionIntroduction: The perception that a person requires ICU is based on an early detection of deterioration or failure of a system, in addition to defining the necessary parameters to identify serious diseases in hospitals, including clear discriminatory values ​​to trigger a timely resuscitation action. Objective: To know the perception of nursing staff working in the intensive care area on the criteria for admission of patients to the ICU. Material and methods: Qualitative study, with a narrative, descriptive and comprehensive approach to understand the phenomenon and the cause, from the knowledge, skills and perceptions of the experiences of each participant; a propositional test was used through a recorded interview of the nursing staff that works in the ICU area. Results: All of the interviewees have an adequate perception of the criteria and prioritization for the admission of critically ill patients to the UCIS. Conclusions: The perception of the nursing staff that works in the Intensive Care Unit, aims to improve the admission of patients at the time of admission, because it allows health personnel to interact between their knowledge and the environment of the person in critical situation.en-US
dc.descriptionIntroducción: La percepción de que una persona requiera UCI, se basa en una detección precoz del deterioro o fallo de un sistema, además de definir parámetros necesarios para identificar enfermedades graves en los hospitales incluyendo valores discriminatorios claros para desencadenar una acción de reanimación oportuna. Objetivo: Conocer la percepción del personal de enfermería  que labora en el área de cuidados de intensivos sobre los criterios de ingreso de pacientes a la UCIs. Material y métodos: Estudio cualitativo, con enfoque narrativo, descriptivo y comprensivo para entender el fenómeno y la causa, desde los conocimientos, aptitudes y percepciones de las experiencias de cada participante; se empleó un muestreo propositivo mediante una entrevista grabada del personal de enfermería que labora en el área de UCI. Resultados: El total de entrevistados tiene una adecuada percepción sobre los criterios y priorizaciones de ingreso de pacientes críticos a las UCIS. Conclusiones: La percepción del personal de enfermería que labora en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos, tiene como objetivo mejorar la admisión de los pacientes al momento de su ingreso, debido a que permite interactuar al personal de salud entre sus conocimientos y el entorno de la persona en situación crítica.es-ES
