dc.descriptionThe clinical laboratory consists of three phases, these are the pre-analytical phase, which is the stage prior to carrying out any laboratory analysis, the analytical phase is the stage in which all the analyzes of the biological samples are carried out, and the post-analytical phase. It is the stage where the results obtained in the previous phases are reported. Errors are made more frequently in the pre-analytical phase, both by the patient and the laboratory staff, due to lack of patient instruction or because the staff does not perform the sample collection correctly. The objective of the research was to evaluate the impact of pre-analytical errors on the quality of the clinical laboratory. The study was a documentary, descriptive bibliographic review, using databases such as: Pubmed, Google Scholar, Dialnet, Scielo, Redalyc, ELSEVIER and Medigraphic, as well as the use of the MeSH terms: quality control; pre- analytical errors; clinical laboratory; impacts of pre-analytical errors and the boolean “and”. Resulting among the errors found by patients prolonged fasting, physical exercise, drinking and consuming tobacco one day before the exam, by health personnel, the errors found are coagulated, hemolyzed, lipemic sample. Concluding that the impact of the errors has been that they have decreased once quality interventions have been carried out, since they had high percentages of them.  en-US
dc.description  El laboratorio clínico consta de tres fases, estas son la fase pre analítica, la cual es la etapa previa a la realización de algún análisis de laboratorio, la analítica es la etapa en la que realizan todos los análisis de las muestras biológicas y la post analítica es la etapa donde se informan los resultados que se han obtenido en las fases anteriores. Los errores son cometidos con mayor frecuencia en la fase pre analítica, tanto por parte del paciente como del personal del laboratorio, debido a la falta de instrucción al paciente o porque el personal no realiza de forma correcta la toma de muestra. El objetivo de la investigación fue evaluar el impacto de los errores pre analíticos en la calidad del laboratorio clínico. El estudio fue una revisión bibliográfica de tipo documental, descriptiva, utilizando bases de datos como: Pubmed, Google Académico, Dialnet, Scielo, Redalyc, ELSEVIER y Medigraphic, así como el uso de los términos MeSH: control de calidad; errores pre-analíticos; laboratorio clínico; impactos de errores pre analíticos y el booleano “and”. Resultando entre los errores encontrados por parte de los pacientes el ayuno prolongado, ejercicio físico, beber y consumir tabaco un día antes del examen, por parte del personal de salud, los errores encontrados son muestra coagulada, hemolizada, lipémica. Concluyendo que el impacto que los errores ha sido que han disminuido una vez realizadas intervenciones de calidad, ya que tenían porcentajes altos de los mismos.es-ES
