| dc.description | The use of the polygraph is a controversial issue even more so when the job stability of the examinees depends on its results. In the Ecuadorian state, the polygraph is used as a component in the confidence tests that are carried out on National Police officers. The failure of the polygraph tests has determined the permanence of the police officers in their posts, which have been immediately and definitively dismissed. It is unknown if the use of the polygraph both in the selection processes of applicants and in the evaluation of members constitutes a legal practice and what has been its influence on the dismissal of police officers as part of the process of purging bad elements from the police ranks. The methodology used was the bibliographic and documentary review. The descriptive-bibliographic method is used, the legal regulations associated with the object of study and studies indexed in databases are used for the analysis. Technical tests have been one of the current requirements that make up the evaluation of the performance of police officers in Ecuador for quite some time, however, this is a subject that has been little investigated. | en-US |
| dc.description | El uso del polígrafo es un tema controvertido más aún cuando de sus resultados depende la estabilidad laboral de los examinados. En el estado ecuatoriano el polígrafo, se utiliza como un componente dentro de las pruebas de confianza que se le practican a los servidores de la Policía Nacional. La reprobación de las pruebas de polígrafos ha determinado la permanencia de los servidores policiales en sus puestos los cuales han sido desvinculados de manera inmediata y definitiva. Se desconoce si el uso del polígrafo tanto en los procesos de selección aspirantes como en la evaluación de los miembros constituye una práctica legal y cuál ha sido su influencia en la desvinculación de servidores policiales como parte del proceso de depuración de malos elementos de las filas policiales. La metodología empleada fue la revisión bibliográfica y documental. Se emplea el método descriptivo-bibliográfico, se utiliza para el análisis la normativa legal asociada al objeto de estudio y estudios indexados en bases de datos. Las pruebas técnicas constituyen unos de los requisitos vigentes que conforman la evaluación del desempeño de los servidores policiales en Ecuador desde hace bastante tiempo, sin embargo, este es un tema que ha sido poco investigado. | es-ES |
