dc.descriptionThe teacher has a preponderant role in society as a guide and trainer of the new generations, education is one of the pillars that sustains the social order, together with the laws that govern the environment. Its function of delivering knowledge must be accompanied by values, good customs, that is, a comprehensive education to improve attitudes and behaviors among citizens, promoting respect for people, developing critical and reflective thinking. Comprehensive education implies a teaching enriched with values that goes beyond the traditional, that is, a way of educating children and adolescents that also involves knowledge; Principled forms of behavior. OBJECTIVE: Recognize the importance of the teacher as a counselor in the training process of students MATERIAL AND METHOD: A bibliographic review and analysis of several articles found in sources such as SciELO, Redalyc, among others, were carried out. CONCLUSION: The teacher's mission is to guide citizens from their early years, instilling values and appropriate civic behaviors in a civilized societyen-US
dc.descriptionEl docente tiene un papel preponderante  en la sociedad como orientador y formador de  las  nuevas generaciones,  la educación es uno de  los pilares que  sostiene el orden social, en conjunto con las  leyes que  rigen el  entorno.  Su función de entregar   conocimientos  debe ir  acompañada de  valores, buenas  costumbres, es decir una educación integral para  mejorar las actitudes y comportamientos   entre los  ciudadanos, fomentando el  respeto a las  personas, desarrollando un pensamiento crítico y reflexivo.  La educación integral, implica una enseñanza enriquecida  con valores que  va  más  allá de la  tradicional,  es decir una forma de educar a niños, niñas y adolescentes que  involucra además de  conocimientos; formas de  comportamiento  basadas en principios. OBJETIVO: Reconocer la  importancia del docente como  orientador en el proceso  formativo de  los  estudiantes MATERIAL Y METODO: Se realizó una revisión  bibliográfica y análisis de  varios artículos  encontrados en fuentes como SciELO, Redalyc, entre  otros. CONCLUSION: El docente  tiene como  misión orientar a los  ciudadanos desde sus primeros años inculcando valores y comportamientos cívicos adecuados en una  sociedad  civilizadaes-ES
