dc.descriptionHomeschooling, also known as family education, is a teaching alternative in which parents, representatives or guardians assume the responsibility for their children to obtain the school education provided at home; homeschooling allows the student to learn from the family environment, in a predetermined schedule, immersed in their specific social and cultural environment, developing technological, research, communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills; the method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative and quantitative approach that allowed us to summarize life stories of homeschooling families participating in Ecuador in the period 2022 – 2023; twelve parents, two graduate students in homeschooling modality, one homeschooler English teacher and one authority that offers the educational option were interviewed, a total of sixteen participants were interviewed; the instrument was developed and applied through the Google Forms® platform, which begins with an affirmative response of consent, the declaration of anonymity and the respective safeguarding of the information, the analysis of the data indicates that homeschoolers approach education in a more extensive way compared to educational institutions, considering homeschooling as an educational option in diverse environments, developing creativity and interest in learning the English language and demonstrating their skills in their free time.en-US
dc.descriptionEl homeschooling también conocido como educación en familia es una alternativa de enseñanza en la que los padres, representantes o tutores asumen la responsabilidad de que sus hijos obtengan la educación escolar impartida desde el hogar. El homeschooling permite al estudiante aprender desde el entorno familiar, en un horario predeterminado, inmerso en su específico medio social y cultural, desarrollando habilidades tecnológicas, de investigación, comunicación de pensamiento crítico y resolución de problemas. El método empleado en esta investigación es descriptivo con un enfoque cualitativo y cuantitativo que permitió́ resumir historias de vida de familias homeschooling partícipes en el Ecuador en el periodo 2022 – 2023. Se entrevistó a doce padres de familias, dos estudiantes graduados en modalidad homeschooling, un docente de inglés homeschooler y una autoridad que oferta la opción educativa. El número de entrevistados fue un total de dieciséis participantes. El instrumento fue desarrollado y aplicado mediante la plataforma Google Forms®, en el que se inicia con una respuesta afirmativa de consentimiento, la declaración del anonimato y el respectivo resguardo de la información. El análisis de los datos indica que los educadores en el hogar abordan la educación de una manera más extensa en comparación de las instituciones educativas, considerando al homeschooling como una opción educativa en diversos entornos, desarrollando la creatividad e interés por aprender el idioma inglés y demostrar sus habilidades en su tiempo libre.es-ES
