dc.descriptionType II diabetes has a high prevalence in Latin America, it is a disease that continues to increase its incidence up to the present time, being convenient to identify it in its association with other diseases. According to that, the objective of this research was to substantiate the association between the lipid profile and obesity in patients with type II diabetes in Latin America. The systematic, exploratory and descriptive bibliographic review methodology was applied, using inclusion and exclusion criteria, with a search strategy in primary databases such as; Scielo, Dialnet, Lilas, Pubmed, Google Scholar. Data were obtained about lipid profile levels in patients with type 2 diabetes in Latin America, where average values could be established, a point to emphasize is that high-density lipoproteins and low-density lipoproteins maintained their value total almost the same and triglycerides were elevated unlike total cholesterol. On the other hand, the body mass index identified in diabetic patients was mostly normal. Likewise, it was found that there is an association between the lipid profile and obesity in patients with type II diabetes. However, more studies related to the subject are desirable, given that the disease has a high prevalence and incidence in the region, as well as obesity. It is necessary that, in those patients, more research be done about the association of these two cardiovascular risk variables.en-US
dc.descriptionLa diabetes tipo II, tiene alta prevalencia en América Latina, es una enfermedad que hasta en los actuales momentos sigue aumentando su incidencia, siendo conveniente a su vez la identificación en la asociación de la misma con otras enfermedades. De acuerdo a eso, la presente investigación tuvo como objetivo, fundamentar la asociación entre el perfil lipídico y obesidad en pacientes con diabetes tipo II de América Latina. Se aplicó la metodología de revisión bibliográfica sistemática, de tipo explorativo y descriptivo, empleando criterios de inclusión y exclusión, con estrategia de búsqueda en bases de datos primarias como; Scielo, Dialnet, Lilacs, Pubmed, Google Académico. Se obtuvieron datos acerca de los niveles del perfil lipídico en los pacientes con diabetes tipo II en américa latina, en donde se pudo establecer valores promedio, un punto a recalcar es que las lipoproteínas de alta densidad y las lipoproteínas de baja densidad, mantuvieron su valor total casi iguales y los triglicéridos se presentaron elevados a diferencia del colesterol total. Por otra parte, el índice de masa corporal identificado en los pacientes diabéticos en su mayoría fue normal. Asimismo, se encontró que si existe asociación entre el perfil lipídico y la obesidad en los pacientes con diabetes tipo II. Sin embargo, es conveniente más estudios relacionados a la temática, en vista de que en la región la enfermedad tiene alta prevalencia e incidencia, como también de obesidad. Es necesario que, en aquellos pacientes, se investigue más acerca de la asociación de estas dos variables de riesgo cardiovascular.es-ES
