| dc.description | The genus Aspergillus defines a group of hyaline filamentous fungi, anamorphic members of the Trichocomaceae family, which are distributed in nature in a wide variety of substrates or suspended in the environment, for which reason human beings are continually exposed to their inhalation. , can cause a wide spectrum of infections in humans ranging from superficial forms (fungal otitis externa, onychomycosis, keratomycosis, wound infections and burns) to deep invasive aspergillosis, which poses the greatest diagnostic challenges to the microbiologist and to the clinician. The objective of this article is to raise awareness in society about respiratory infections caused by Aspergillus in humans. Material and Method: A bibliographic review of articles from sources such as Scielo, Redalyc and specialized authors among others was carried out, 32 articles were obtained, of which 12 were considered to carry out this article. Conclusion: Aspergillus is an opportunistic infection that can cause a wide spectrum of infections in humans, generally affecting the airways, it can complicate lung function and even other organs, causing death if it is not diagnosed and treated on time, especially in immunosuppressed patients such as cancer patients, HIV-positive patients, transplant recipients, patients with chronic respiratory diseases or those infected with tuberculosis. | en-US |
| dc.description | El género Aspergillus define a un conjunto de hongos filamentosos hialinos, miembros anamórficos de la familia Trichocomaceae y que se hallan distribuidas en la naturaleza en una gran variedad de substratos o en suspensión en el ambiente por lo que el ser humano está continuamente expuesto a su inhalación, puede causar un amplio espectro de infecciones en el ser humano que van desde las formas superficiales (otitis externas fúngicas, onicomicosis, queratomicosis, infecciones de heridas y quemaduras) a la aspergilosis profunda invasora que es la que plantea los mayores retos diagnósticos al microbiólogo y al clínico. El objetivo del presente artículo es concientizar a la sociedad sobre las infecciones respiratorias que genera el Aspergillus en los seres humanos. Material y Método: Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica de artículos de fuentes como Scielo, Redalyc y autores especializados entre otros, se obtuvieron 32 artículos de los cuales se consideraron 12 para realizar este artículo. Conclusión: El Aspergillus es una infección oportunista que puede causar un amplio espectro de infecciones en el ser humano, afectando generalmente las vías aéreas puede complicar la función pulmonar e inclusive otros órganos, llegando a causar la muerte sino es diagnosticado y tratado a tiempo, especialmente en pacientes inmunodeprimidos tales como enfermos de cáncer, seropositivos, personas trasplantadas, afectados de enfermedades respiratorias crónicas o infectados de tuberculosis. | es-ES |
