| dc.description | One of the steps taken to mitigate the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic is the use of face masks by the general population. For a mask to be effective, it must cover the nose and mouth. This article aims to raise awareness of the effect of the use of the mask in times of pandemic on Covid-19. Whose methodology had a bibliographic, descriptive and cross-sectional study design, where the problem of exposure was how the prolonged use of the mask influenced in times of the Covid-19 pandemic, through the collection of information in original scientific articles and of medical relevance, published in reference to the study variables. With results like; As a result of the use of the mask, health personnel have presented skin lesions on their faces due to the prolonged use of personal protection equipment. In conclusion, there is notorious clinical, scientific and historical evidence that the use of the mask prevents the spread of viruses such as Covid-2019 since its inception, thus preventing the world population from acquiring their respiratory viral infections. However, in medical practice, the risk-benefit of any preventive intervention must be taken into account, in which case, the use of the mask throughout the world about the effects that its prolonged use entails, respectively. | en-US |
| dc.description | Uno de los pasos adoptados para mitigar la pandemia por SARS-CoV-2 es el uso de cubrebocas por parte de la población en general. Para que una mascarilla sea efectiva, debe cubrir la nariz y la boca. Este artículo tiene como objetivo dar a conocer sobre el efecto del uso de la mascarilla en tiempo de pandemia sobre el Covid-19. Cuya metodología tuvo un diseño de estudio bibliográfico, descriptivo y de corte transversal, donde el problema de exposición fue cómo influyó el uso prolongado de la mascarilla en tiempos de pandemia Covid-19, mediante la recopilación de información en artículos científicos originales y de relevancia médica, publicados en referencia a las variables del estudio. Con resultados como; a raíz del uso de la mascarilla, el personal de salud ha presentado lesiones de piel en sus rostros debido al uso prolongado de equipos de protección personal. En conclusión, existe una notoria evidencia clínica, científica e histórica de que el uso de la mascarilla previene la propagación de virus como el Covid – 2019 desde sus inicios, evitando así, que la población mundial adquiera sus infecciones virales respiratorias. Sin embargo, en la práctica médica se debe tomar muy en cuenta el riesgo-beneficio de cualquier intervención preventiva en cuyo caso, el uso de la mascarilla en todo el mundo acerca de los efectos que conlleva su uso prolongado, respectivamente. | es-ES |
