dc.descriptionChildren are especially at risk  of malnutrition, because of the high protein and energy cost of growth, any nutrient deficiency affects development, ifa delay occurs it is likely that there is the presence of some underlying disease,  the timely identification of children at risk of malnutrition is essential to provide adequate nutritional control and support to prevent malnutrition at the global level. It is a problem that seriously affects middle and low income societies, the prevalent and serious situation, in Latin America a decrease in child malnutrition rates is reflected, in Ecuador this problem affects two children out of five, the main objective of this research is to carry out a situational analysis on child malnutrition at the Latin American level,  for which a methodology of systematic scientific documentary review was used. Among the results obtained, it was evidenced that there is a high prevalence of acute child malnutrition, at the level of Latin America this state is very persistent in those under five years of age and who live in poor places, whose families have lower incomes. In conclusion,child malnutrition represents on a large scale half or a good part of the deaths in children worldwide, taking into account the damage it leaves, it is of great need to monitor these cases of child malnutrition.en-US
dc.descriptionLos niños se encuentran especialmente en riesgo para padecer desnutrición, a causa del alto costo proteico y energético del crecimiento, cualquier deficiencia de nutrientes llega a afectar el desarrollo, si ocurre un retraso es probable que exista la presencia de alguna enfermedad subyacente, la identificación oportuna de niños en riesgo de desnutrición es indispensable para brindar un control y apoyo nutricional adecuado para prevenir la desnutrición  nivel global. Es un problema que afecta gravemente a las sociedades de ingresos medianos y bajos, la situación prevalente y grave, en Latinoamérica se refleja una disminución en las tasas de desnutrición infantil, en Ecuador este problema afecta a dos niños de cada cinco, el objetivo principal de esta investigación es realizar un análisis situacional sobre la desnutrición infantil a nivel de Latinoamérica, para lo cual se utilizó una metodología de revisión sistemática documental científico. Dentro de los resultados obtenidos se evidencio que existe una gran prevalencia de la desnutrición aguda infantil, a nivel de Latinoamérica este estado es muy persistente en aquellos menores de cinco años y que viven en lugares pobres, cuyas familias tienen ingresos inferiores. En conclusión, la desnutrición infantil representa en gran escala la mitad o una buena parte de las muertes en niños a nivel mundial, tomando en consideración los perjuicios que deja, es de gran necesidad vigilar estos casos de desnutrición infantil.es-ES
