dc.descriptionThis research work determines the frequency of subgroups A1 and A2 in the demand for blood in the Hospital Dr. Julio Villacreses Colmont´ Transfusion Medicine Service. Being an oncology hospital, where the treatment of patients requires constant hematological support, transfusion safety is a priority. When providing hematological support to polytransfused patients, guaranteeing compatible isogroup units is a requirement, in order to avoid sensitization of receptors and their exposure to possible future post-transfusion reactions, worsening and increasing the cost of their treatment. The supply of hemocomponents to any Service should be based on studies that provide true and real information on the demand for each of the different blood groups, thus allowing a supply according to the requirement and ensuring the supply in a timely manner. Another fundamental aspect is to reduce the waste of units due to lack of demand, thus avoiding unnecessary economic losses for the Hospital. The methodology used in this research work is retrospective, quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental and cross-sectional; where 185 receptors of red blood cells with blood group A and AB obtained in the period from January to June 2021 were included.en-US
dc.descriptionEl presente  trabajo de investigación determina la frecuencia de subgrupos A1 y A2 en la demanda de sangre en el Servicio de Medicina Transfusional del Hospital Dr. Julio Villacreses Colmont.  Por ser un hospital oncológico, donde el tratamiento de los pacientes requiere de soporte hematológico constante, la seguridad transfusional  es una prioridad. Al proporcionar el soporte hematológico a los pacientes politransfundidos,  garantizar unidades isogrupo compatibles constituye una exigencia, con la finalidad de evitar  la sensibilización de  los receptores  y su exposición a posibles futuras reacciones postransfusionales, empeorando y encareciendo  su tratamiento. El abastecimiento con hemocomponentes a todo Servicio debe estar basado en estudios que proporcionen información verídica y real de la demanda de cada uno de los diferentes grupos sanguíneos, permitiendo así un abastecimiento de acorde al requerimiento y asegurando la oferta de manera oportuna. Otro aspecto fundamental constituye el disminuir el desecho de unidades por falta de demanda, evitando así pérdidas económicas innecesarias para el hospital. La metodología que usó este trabajo investigativo es de enfoque retrospectivo, cuantitativo, descriptivo, no experimental y corte transversal; donde incluyeron 185 receptores de glóbulos rojos con grupo sanguíneo  A y AB obtenidos en el período de Enero a Junio del 2021.es-ES
