dc.descriptionThe commerce sector is a very important activity for the growth and development of theRocafuerte canton, because it is its greatest source of economic contribution. Therefore, theobjective of this article is to analyze the commercial activities and their contribution to the GVAof the Rocafuerte canton, in the period 2008-2018. According to the methodology used, thisarticle is addressed under a mixed approach, whose research design was non-experimental, thelongitudinal study was also used, since the data issued in the reports of official organizationswere collected and analyzed. In addition, the descriptive and bibliographic method was used;for the presentation of the data it was necessary to use descriptive statistics.As main results, the realization of a critical analysis of the activities and their relationship withthe GVA in the canton stands out, in this sense it was determined that the tertiary sector hasbeen the one that has contributed the most to the GVA of Rocafuerte, since its evolution of Ina general way, it has had greater growth during the years of study. In short, since the importance of commercial activities has been demonstrated in relation to the canton's GVA, it is necessary to promote this activity to a greater extent, by the municipal GAD of Rocafuerte; since it is of vital importance to contribute to local, regional and national socioeconomic development.en-US
dc.descriptionEl sector comercio es una actividad muy importante para el crecimiento y desarrollo del cantón Rocafuerte, debido a que es su mayor fuente de aportación económica. Por ello, el objetivo de este artículo es analizar las actividades comerciales y su aporte al VAB del cantón Rocafuerte, en el periodo 2008-2018. De acuerdo a la metodología utilizada, el presente artículo se lo abordo bajo un enfoque mixto, cuyo diseño de investigación fue no experimental, también se hizo uso del estudio longitudinal, ya que se recogieron y analizaron los datos emitidos en los informes de organismos oficiales. Además, se utilizó el método descriptivo y bibliográfico; para la presentación de los datos fue necesario el uso de la estadística descriptiva. Como principales resultados se destaca la realización de un análisis crítico de las actividades y su relación con el VAB en el cantón, en este sentido se determinó, que el sector terciario ha sido el que más ha contribuido al VAB de Rocafuerte, pues su evolución de manera generalizada, ha tenido mayor crecimiento durante los años de estudio. En definitiva, toda vez que se ha demostrado la importancia de las actividades comerciales frente al VAB del cantón, se hace necesario impulsar en mayor medida esta actividad, por parte del GAD municipal de Rocafuerte; ya que es de vital importancia para contribuir en el desarrollo socioeconómico local, regional y nacional.es-ES
